Tacoma to merge city departments

TACOMA — The city of Tacoma plans to merge its Environmental Services and Public Works departments under a single director next year.

The move is one of several organizational changes outlined in a City Council study session update on Tacoma's “Roadmap to Recovery,” a multi-year strategy responding to ongoing financial pressures.
