State moves to speed wildfire recovery

  • Gov. Ferguson issued an emergency proclamation Monday suspending some state laws to help those impacted by wildfires.

    The move is aimed at helping wildfire victims rebuild as quickly as possible in some of the state’s hardest-hit areas, including Spokane’s Indian Trail neighborhood.

    As Washington communities begin planning for recovery from this summer's devastating wildfires, Gov. Bob Ferguson has ordered state agencies to identify ways to streamline rebuilding efforts and reduce regulatory hurdles for property owners who lost homes and businesses.
