OLYMPIA — Washington's unemployment rate edged down to 5.0% in July as employers added an estimated 21,100 jobs, marking the state's third consecutive month of job growth, according to the Employment Security Department.
Chief labor economist Anneliese Vance-Sherman said the gains were driven largely by private-sector hiring, particularly in service industries.
