OLYMPIA — Washington's unemployment rate decreased for the second consecutive month to 4.9%. That's according to the latest report from the state's Employment Security Department, released yesterday.
The state's labor market decreased by an estimated 900 jobs (seasonally adjusted) in August. The private sector shed 9,000 jobs in August, while the public sector added an estimated 8,100 jobs.
