With free e-filing, is TurboTax worth it?

    NEW YORK — Almost as difficult as doing your own taxes this year might be sorting through the variety of programs that promise to infuse you with an accountant's expertise.

    Taxpayers' options increased this year when many of the companies that participate in the government's free electronic filing program expanded their online service to include everyone, doing away with previous income restrictions.
