Todd Harrison tomorrow will become the acting assistant regional administrator for the state Department of Transportation's Mount Baker area, which covers Skagit, Island, San Juan and Whatcom counties. Harrison is replacing Paul Johnson, who is retiring after 33 years with the department. In his new role, Harrison will oversee regional transportation planning, design, construction, maintenance, traffic, transportation and local support services for the Mount Baker area. Harrison began his WSDOT career in 1985 as a geotechnical engineer. He later moved into construction and design, eventually becoming a project engineer. In February last year, he became Mount Baker’s area manager, where he helped deliver the state’s regional transportation program within the four counties.
