On Wednesday, monorail officials said using a project labor agreement to build the monorail will ensure fair pay and bring $180 million in wages into the region's economy.
The agreement requires contractors and subcontractors to pay prevailing wages and benefits, with cost-of-living increases. The agreement will cover bricklayers, carpenters, plasterers, truck drivers, cement masons, sheet metal workers, electricians, elevator constructors, iron workers, roofers and operating engineers, to name a few.
