Pierce County

Pierce County won a Quality Award for asphalt pavement construction at the Nov. 20 Washington Asphalt Paving Association's 2009 annual meeting. Tucci & Sons of Tacoma, the county's paving contractor, was a joint recipient of the award. The winning project widened 1.7 miles of Canyon Road East, from 116th to 144th streets East. The prime contractor on the project was SCI Infrastructure of Pacific.
