The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy honored seven Oregon and Idaho manufactured housing builders with 2009 Energy Star Leadership in Housing awards. The award recognizes outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through energy efficiency. In Oregon, the winners included: Fleetwood Homes in Woodburn, Fuqua Building Systems in Bend, Golden West Homes in Albany, Homebuilders Northwest in Salem, Marlette Homes in Hermiston and Palm Harbor Homes of Oregon in Millersburg. In Idaho, the winner was Nashua Homes of Idaho in Boise. The winners built more than 70 percent of their homes to Energy Star standards.
