AGC elects officers, board for 2011

At its Jan. 28 annual meeting, the AGC of Washington elected its 2011 slate of officers and board members. The officers are:

McGarry

Pat McGarry

President

Pat McGarry is vice president for Manson Construction Co. He started at Manson in 1968 working aboard the company's tugs and crane barges. In 1984, Pat helped open Manson's first remote office in San Francisco and in 1991 became vice president with responsibility for all of Manson's Northwest, Alaska and international work. Pat serves on the boards of the Seattle Marine Business Coalition and the Manufacturing Industrial Council, and serves on the advisory committees for the King County South Park Bridge Project and Royal Victoria Yacht Club construction committee. In addition to his board service, Pat has served on the AGC's property committee and carpenter and operators negotiating committee. Pat and his wife, Carol, have raised champion Irish setter show dogs over the last 40 years, and are competitive sailors in the Northwest.

Isenhart



Steve Isenhart

First Vice President

Steve Isenhart is co-owner, estimator and project manager for Tiger Construction. Steve started the building division for Tiger in 1985. He holds a bachelor's degree in geophysical engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. Steve is an active AGC member, both as a board member and as a leader of AGC's Northern District. He is a retired volunteer fireman and EMT who served 20 years at Kendall Fire Station; for 10 years he was a commissioner for Whatcom County Fire District 14. Steve is married to Sharon Isenhart and has two children. His interests include biking, boating, fishing, golfing, hiking and skiing.

Brooks



Butch Brooks

Second Vice President

Butch Brooks is president of Miles Resources (formerly Woodworth & Co.). Butch was hired by Woodworth as a project manager in 1986. In 1989, he became general superintendent overseeing all construction and manufacturing, and was named vice president/general manager in 1995. He has served in a variety of capacities for the AGC of Washington, including chairing the government affairs council and service on the labor committee. In 2005, he was named AGC of Washington's Contractor of the Year. He is past president of the Washington Asphalt Pavement Association. Butch is a former city of Fife councilman and Mayor pro tem. He coached a select fast-pitch team for eight years. Butch and his wife, Barb, have two daughters, Sarah and Becky.

Seaman



Mark Seaman

Secretary-Treasurer

Mark Seaman is the CFO and secretary-treasurer of J.R. Abbott Construction, a general construction company with offices in Seattle, Arcadia, Calif., and Lake Oswego, Ore. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in economics from UC Berkeley in 1977, he worked in the San Francisco area for 20 years in real estate finance, construction and asset management. He moved to Seattle in 1996 and was a controller at McDonald Miller before landing at J.R. Abbott Construction in 1998 as CFO. Mark and a partnership of six other principals purchased J.R. Abbott Construction in May of 2006. He is an active member of the AGC of Washington and Construction Financial Management Association. He lives in Bellevue with his wife, Cindy.

Zamzow



Tom Zamzow

Immediate Past President

Tom Zamzow is a project executive for Granite Construction Co. Tom has 24 years of construction experience in Nevada, California and Washington. He began his career in 1985 as an estimator with Granite Construction in Reno. In 1996, he became the area manager of Granite's Carson City operations. Tom became manager of Washington Operations for Wilder Construction in 2001 (Wilder Construction merged with Granite Construction in 2008). He is an active member of the AGC of Washington, including service on its transportation task force. He served as president of the Washington Asphalt Paving Association in 2006. When not traveling the world, Tom lives with his sons and wife, Monica, in Mukilteo.
