The Construction Owners Association of America opened a Washington chapter. John Kaniss of Pacific Lutheran University is president and Neil Fujii, a managing engineer for King County, is vice president. Kaniss is construction manager of PLU's capital projects. Fujii is credited for setting up the local chapter. COAA provides education, information and relationship building for construction owners.
