The 2011-13 state budget approved Wednesday night by the Legislature includes some good news for contractors: $324 million is set aside for 77 infrastructure projects.
“Hiring in the construction sector — the hardest hit in this economic downturn — is vital to our economic recovery,” said Gov. Chris Gregoire in a prepared statement. “These investments put people to work, improving and maintaining our essential public infrastructure systems in communities across Washington.”
