Anacortes plant makes world's largest rope

    ANACORTES — The machines at Puget Sound Rope take on a whimsical air as the larger-than-life bobbins dance in circles to create a complex braid.

    The biggest machine at the facility measures almost 45 feet tall with red and yellow spools that give it the look of an industrial-sized merry-go-round — without the music.
