Bids opened for new SR 520 floating bridge

Kiewit-General-Manson submitted the apparent best combination of bid price and technical proposal for replacing the state Route 520 floating bridge, according to tallies calculated today by the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Kiewit-General-Manson’s bid price of $586.5 million for construction of the new six-lane bridge was well below WSDOT’s estimate of $600 million to $750 million.
