Paint switch requires city to remove and reassemble steel

Removing steel pieces to repaint and reassemble at the South Transfer Station will cost about $2.8 million, which will be split by the city and the contractor.

People who have gone past the city's South Transfer Station construction site lately, might be doing some head scratching. Workers had about half of the steel erected for the $75 million project's prefabricated building when they began taking it apart.
