KODIAK, Alaska (AP) — Kodiak visitors and residents have a new place to seek refuge, thanks to the work of volunteers and Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge employees who built a public use cabin with a novel technique on Uganik Island during two weeks in August.
A cabin already existed on the island, but refuge maintenance director Robin Leatherman said it was due for an upgrade.
