Lease Crutcher Lewis was one of 13 organizations nationwide to win the AGC in the Community Award from the charitable arm of the Associated General Contractors of America, AGC Charities. Lewis was cited for its charity work in 2011 and for teaching local kids about the benefits of science, technology, engineering and math education. The contractor raised more than $250,000 for the local community, most of which went to Washington STEM, a nonprofit that encourages innovative teaching in science, technology, engineering and math. Lewis employees launched a STEM club at a local high school and volunteered teaching a six-week course in applied construction.
