Mount Vernon starts new phase of waterfront rehab

Work has started in Mount Vernon on the second phase of a project to revitalize the waterfront and protect downtown from flooding. The work includes building a 24-foot wide pedestrian riverwalk, a 30,000-square-foot Riverfront Park and a permanent floodwall.
