Here is Sound Transit's list for ST3

Sound Transit has released a draft list of the light rail and bus projects it wants to include on the next ballot measure, Sound Transit 3.

The measure could go to voters as soon as 2016, and could include light rail routes to Ballard, West Seattle, Everett, Tacoma, Issaquah and downtown Redmond.

The draft list also has improvements to the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel, new infill stations for light rail lines already planned or built, bus rapid transit along Interstate 405 and improvements to Sounder rail stations.

You can see the list on a new website: soundtransit3.org.

Sound Transit has asked the state Legislature for authority to raise up to $15 billion in new revenue through the Sound Transit 3 ballot measure. In a press release, Sound Transit said it is important to get full taxing authority because the population is growing and creating more transit demand.

“The Puget Sound's expected 30 percent population growth by 2040 will be equivalent to adding the populations of Tacoma, Seattle and Bellevue combined to our already congested transportation network,” Sound Transit Board Vice Chair and Tacoma Mayor Marilyn Strickland said in a statement. “Before the Legislature adjourns we need the authority to meet the public's strong demand for expanding our transportation system with more congestion-free travel options.”

Sound Transit's Board of Directors will narrow the list of projects for further study in the fall. Those studies will be used to draft a ballot measure in early 2016.

Sound Transit will hold six public meetings to get feedback on the options. All the meetings begin at 5:30 p.m., except one day-time meeting in Seattle on June 25.

Here is the schedule:
