Ongoing gas leak drives thousands from LA suburb

  • The leak is coming from one of 115 wells operated by Southern California Gas in the Santa Susana Mountains.

    SoCalGas is building a relief well that will connect to the leaking well. The utility will pump cement into the leaking well to stop the flow of gas.

    LOS ANGELES — Laura Gideon and her family endured the sickening stench from an out-of-control natural gas leak for about a month before they could no longer tolerate the nausea, headaches and nosebleeds.
