Charter Construction

Charter Construction is converting to an employee stock ownership plan. Before the switch, President Peter Saladino owned 80 percent and vice president Eric Jackson owned 20 percent. Now the 33-year-old company will make a contribution each year to the ESOP trust, which will buy company stock to distribute to eligible employees. Charter specializes in commercial, custom residential, remediation and emergency restoration construction. It has offices in Seattle and Portland.
