Kassel awarded 911 center job

TACOMA — Kassel & Associates won a $31.7 million contract to build the South Sound 911 communications center at 3580 Pacific Ave. S. in Tacoma.

The 72,500-square-foot building will have a unified communications floor to connect law enforcement and fire department dispatchers. It also will house administrative support, records, a public service lobby and an emergency operations center.
