Commuters will feel the pinch as viaduct's final pieces come down

  • Demolition is over 90% complete and the main stretch along the waterfront should be finished by the end of this month.

    These two sections are all that’s left of the south end of the viaduct. The intersection will be closed for 10 days while crews remove them.

    Crews last week removed the steel footbridge over Alaskan Way that connected below this remaining section of viaduct.
