In Seattle, Washington Women in Trades announced the winners of the 2019 Tradeswoman Awards: Ebonee Heller, machinist at Pioneer Industries, Tradeswoman of the Year; Elenora Northington, senior inspector at Jacobs Engineering, Lifetime Achievement; Megan Cornish, outage dispatcher with Seattle City Light, Lifetime Achievement; Stephanie Colbert, journey-level carpenter with Low Income Housing Institute, Lifetime Achievement; Tawny Sayers, apprentice coordinator at Laborers Training, Lifetime Achievement; Angela Hoffman, owner of Best Finish Concrete, Women Owned Business of the Year; PJ Moss, training coordinator with the Seattle Area Pipe Trades Apprenticeship, Active Advocate; Kabri Lehrman-Schmid, project superintendent at Hensel Phelps, Workplace Leader; Rachel Montoy, tool mechanic at PSNS & IMF Bremerton, Union Activist; Andrea Ornelas, laborer with The Walsh Group, Josie Dunn Apprentice Award; and Julie Jensen, cement mason apprentice at Conco Companies, Peggy Cook Apprentice Award. Nominees included Elise Solima, Elizabeth Waggoner-Sotack, Kimberly Hirning, Mandy Richardson, Penny Scott, Taryn Papillon and Valeria Jiles. An awards dinner will be held Nov. 2 at the Aerospace Machinists Hall in Seattle.
