Transit tunnel closing this weekend; 10 weeks of service disruptions next

Light rail riders will have a choice of exiting to the outer platforms or transferring to a connecting train via the temporary center platform.

Sound Transit is closing the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel this weekend in an effort to integrate light rail to the Eastside. The job will require two other weekend tunnel closures — Feb. 8-9 and March 14-15 — and 10 weeks of service disruptions.
