General contractor Skanska USA raised over $220,000 during its annual Bricks & Books fundraising event, which was held online this year due to the pandemic. The month-long event benefited Seattle nonprofit Rainier Scholars, which provides low-income students of color with equitable access to a quality education. Skanska set a goal of $200,000, topping that by 10%, and has now raised over $1.6 million during the eight years that the program has run. Skanska's effort this year was backed by over 60 organizations, many from the design and subcontractor communities.
