Sound Transit last week started an online open house to get public feedback on what an infill transit station at Northeast 130th Street should include. The open house runs until Oct. 28 at https://ne130thstation.participate.online/.
The station is an “infill” because it will be built separately from the $2.9 billion Lynnwood Link Extension project, but will eventually become part of it. It originally was to open in 2031, seven years after Lynnwood Link opens, but could open with the rest of the extension in an effort to minimize disruptions to future riders. Sound Transit staff are working on pre-engineering studies to determine if the station's construction can be fast-tracked. These studies should be finished in the spring and Sound Transit's board will consider the next step shortly afterward.
