Weyerhaeuser alumni made a commitment to sponsor 10 home builds over five years in King and Pierce counties for Habitat for Humanity. The alumni group is comprised of eight retired company executives that came together late last year to lead an effort that has resulted in pledges from 94 of their former colleagues totaling $1.18 million. The Seattle — King County chapter will share the donation with the Tacoma — Pierce County chapter. Former Weyerhaeuser executives and Habitat SKC board members Steve Hill and Bob Moore spearheaded the campaign. The first build is at Habitat's La Fortuna development in Renton for the Clay family.
