Work begins on a speedy HOV connection at SR 520 and I-5

The project will: (1) build an HOV ramp between SR 520 and the I-5 express lanes; (2) add a reversible HOV lane to the expressway; (3) reconfigure the Mercer Street on/off-ramp for HOV use.

A new route for buses and carpools could cut 30 minutes from the commute for HOV travelers between Eastside cities and South Lake Union in Seattle.
