Skanska USA raised over $250,000 through its Bricks & Books fundraising auction to benefit Rainier Scholars, exceeding its goal by more than $25,000. Over 60 firms, many from the design and subcontractor communities, participated in this year's event. Skanska has raised over $2.1 million for Rainier Scholars since it began hosting Bricks & Books nine years ago. In addition to the auction, Skanska sponsors the Rainier Scholars Annual Luncheon, hires scholars as interns and full-time employees, and volunteers time to service projects throughout the year. Rainier Scholars was established in 2000 to provide hard-working, low-income students of color with equitable access to a quality education.
