Alston says van Niekerk is well versed in working with architects and engineers in design, understanding the value-engineering process, and leading design review work sessions. During his 17 years in the industry, he has estimated and completed 258 commercial projects, from mid-size financial institutions up to 3.4 million-square-foot mega structures.
