Bellingham mission has $21M proposal to rebuild campus, add ‘micro-shelters’

Lighthouse Mission Ministries’ new main building will be about 80,000 square feet and will have accommodations for about 300 homeless guests.

Lighthouse Mission Ministries hopes to start construction in about a year on a $21 million campus rebuild that includes a new 80,000-square-foot main building at 910 W. Holly St. in Bellingham where it is currently headquartered in an old building. The project will provide about 300 beds in two primary low-barrier shelters as well as multiple “micro-shelters.” The mission currently provides about 200 beds nightly to the homeless.
