BNSF to open rail hub at the Port of Tacoma

BNSF Railway and J.B. Hunt are launching a direct container-only service between Tacoma and Chicago.

BNSF Railway Co. is partnering with the Northwest Seaport Alliance to develop a new rail hub at the Port of Tacoma to meet increased intermodal demand in the greater Seattle region and unlock capacity. BNSF says the new facility will be able to handle over 50,000 annual container lifts.
