Union Street pedestrian bridge likely to open early next month

The new link to the waterfront has an elevated concrete walkway and staircase.

A much improved pedestrian link to the waterfront is expected to open early next month, according to Waterfront Seattle. The project consists of a new elevated concrete walkway and staircase on Union Street, connecting Western Avenue above to Alaskan Way below. It replaces an old metal stairway that rose along the wall framed by the Public Storage building to the south and the Seattle Antiques Market building to the north.
