State ranks high for workplace accidents

LOS ANGELES — Washington has the fourth highest workplace accident rate in the country, according to an analysis of the most recent U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data by Los Angeles-based High Rise Financial.

A news release from High Rise Financial shows Washington state with 3.5 recordable cases per 100 full-time workers. Maine topped the list, with 4.7 cases, followed by Oregon and Vermont, with 3.8 cases each. These numbers represent nonfatal work injuries and illnesses.
