Cherry trees sawed down near Pike Place Market

Limbs from the fallen trees were stacked along Pike Street on Tuesday.

Crews armed with chainsaws cut down eight aging cherry blossom trees this week near Pike Place Market. The trees lined Pike Street between First and Second avenues. They were planted in 1980.
