Murphy

APA — The Engineered Wood Association named John Murphy Sr. as the 2023 Bronson J. Lewis Award winner. Now in its 18th year, the award recognizes individuals for their leadership and outstanding contributions to the engineered wood industry. Murphy, who has served the industry for over 50 years, was presented with the award earlier this month at the APA annual meeting in Palm Desert, California. He is president and CEO of Murphy Co., which operates six mills in Oregon and Washington that produce softwood and hardwood plywoods and laminated veneer lumber. He also served for 25 years on APA's board. The award is named in honor of the late Bronson Lewis, who served for 24 years as secretary and then executive vice president of Tacoma-based APA.
