U.S. construction input prices rose 1% last month, but remain ‘tame'

Crews with Gary Merlino Construction are reworking South Main Street into a pedestrian-friendly link to Seattle’s waterfront. Prices for concrete products were up 0.8% last month.

After several months of declines, construction input prices jumped 1.0% in January. That's according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of Producer Price Index data released Friday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Nonresidential construction input prices increased 0.9% for the month, the association adds.
