Construction spending dips a bit in January but continues upward trend

After leveling off from the start of the pandemic in 2020, spending on nonresidential construction has taken off.

National nonresidential construction spending decreased 0.4% in January, according to an analysis of recent U.S. Census Bureau data by the Associated Builders and Contractors. On a seasonally adjusted annualized basis, nonresidential spending totaled $1.19 trillion.
