Bellevue, tribes get traffic safety grants

WASHINGTON — The city of Bellevue and the Confederated Tribes and Band of the Yakama Nation are set to receive more than $2.9 million in Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) grants to improve traffic safety.

The announcement was made in a press release yesterday by Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA), who is the chair of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.
