Shelter opens to serve veterans experiencing homelessness

King County has opened its first all-veteran 24/7 shelter in Seattle's Lower Queen Anne neighborhood at 180 Denny Way.

The Blaine Veterans Center has a year one budget of $999,000 from the King County Veterans Program, funded by the Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy and the Veterans Relief Fund. King County Veterans Program partnered with Compass Housing Alliance to reopen the Blaine Center at the site owned by First Church as an all-veteran shelter providing trauma-informed care through a new dedicated case manager.
