Get ready to ride the rails Saturday on the Eastside

The southernmost station on the initial segment of the 2 Line is in south Bellevue.

It was exactly eight years ago from Monday of this week that Sound Transit broke ground on the $3.7 billion East Link Extension project. Finally, a segment of the line will go into service on Saturday after planners pivoted last year to a phased approach to get that part open.
