Merlino gets nod to build north waterfront bike lane

Alaskan Way in front of Pier 66 on a non-sailing day when cyclists can use the west side, two-way protected bike lane. On sailing days, cyclists will detour to the east side path between Blanchard and Wall streets.

The Seattle Department of Transportation has issued a notice of intent to award Seattle's Gary Merlino Construction a $3.5 million contract to construct protected bike lanes on the north end of the Seattle waterfront.
