SDOT starts construction of new waterfront bike lane

Crews with Gary Merlino Construction are shown working on the project in December.

Construction started Dec. 2. on the Alaskan Way Safety Project, a collaborative partnership between the Seattle Department of Transportation, the Port of Seattle and Cascade Bicycle Club that will build a new two-way protected bike lane on the north end of the Seattle waterfront.
