It's been a little over a year since general contractor Rush Commercial Construction broke ground on a new 128-unit mixed-use building in Sumner.
The six-story property, currently dubbed the Fryar Avenue Apartments, is taking shape at 1228 Fryar Ave. in Sumner's Town Center Station District.
Rush is building the apartments for developer Dobler Management Company. Tacoma firm Casey + DeChant Architects designed the property, which it says will be the tallest in the city once completed.
In addition to the apartment units will be approximately 1,000 square feet of commercial retail and two levels of sub-grade parking with around 165 stalls.
Total project size is a little over 176,000 square feet.
The property is rising adjacent to the White River and some units will have river views. Amenity spaces will include a plaza with outdoor seating.
