Station to close for weekend repairs

SEATTLE — Sound Transit says that Link light rail service will be temporarily suspended this weekend between the U District and Capitol Hill stations as repairs are made to the overhead contact system at the University of Washington Station.

Crews will replace the overhead contact wires that power the train at and around the station. The agency says this will improve safety and reliability, while also restoring full-speed service on the northbound trains traveling through the station.
