Nonresidential construction spending down in December

  • Two bright spots — data centers and manufacturing — are expected to remain strong.
  • Spending on construction of nonresidential projects decreased in December, down 0.2% from the month before, according to an analysis by the Associated Builders and Contractors of data published Monday by the U.S. Census Bureau.

    Data show that, on a seasonally adjusted annualized basis, spending on nonresidential construction totaled $1.241 trillion.
