State to honor fallen workers

TUMWATER — Washington's annual Worker Memorial Day ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the state Department of Labor & Industries' headquarters at 7273 Linderson Way S.W. in Tumwater.

Held each April, the event commemorates those who lost their lives on the job in Washington. Of the 97 people being honored tomorrow, 29 workers passed away before last year but were not included in previous ceremonies. They range in age from 16 to 90, with exposure to toxic chemicals the leading cause of death.
