New rules in works for cranes, lifting

OLYMPIA — The Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) is working on creating new rules in response to updated federal and state requirements for cranes, rigging and personnel lifting in construction.

Two in-person public hearings and one virtual public hearing are scheduled next week on the proposed rulemaking, which comes in response to updates to federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards.
