As summer heats up, worker protections kick in

At or above 80 degrees, employers must encourage and allow paid preventative cool-down rests.

The state Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) is reminding employers to be aware of worker protections in place during hazardous summer conditions, including some changes made in recent years.
